Everyday Grief looks at ecological grieving.
The work names the emotional response that is laying amongst us.
It is there as a provocation.
We contemplate the loss of something as unique as a birdsong, a species of flower or a grasshopper, a soundscape, a habitat, communities or a forest…
Instead of being overwhelmed by our complicity, a threshold for grief is acknowledged, accentuating our inter-connectedness to nature and each other.
It is as a catalyst for action.
The work employs traditional techniques of Mexican funeral wreath making and cultural botanicals.
A funeral dirge is played for nature in Peru.
Our shared grief is exhumed and displayed through traditions of music and plants.
Tears for nature. Tears for all.
